These mindset tips for entrepreneurs are what I have picked up and continued within the past three years of my journey as a professional writer. I hope they will help you to excel in your choice of career and in life as well.  

It took me a lot of time to let go of the “I want a job” mindset and develop an entrepreneurial attitude. It took me a lot of unlearning of what I had learned all through my life. 

Convincing my parents to give up the conventional career choices of teaching or a 9 to 5 was not an easy thing to do. But they came around eventually.  

The biggest source of my entrepreneurial mindset was my partner. He has been an incredible support pillar in my journey throughout, as a writer and blogger.  

I started my freelance writing journey in 2020 after learning from Jorden Makelle’s YouTube channel. Out of everything I learned from her, the one thing that has stayed with me is to treat my writing skills as a business and not just as a hobby. 

When I started showing up on my social media channels as a business owner and not just as a desperate writer seeking any low-pay gigs, that is the day it all changed for me. 

I used to be a mediocre writer. But building a daily writing habit not only improved my writing skills, it also boosted my self-confidence. It gave me the courage and motivation to become the high-paying freelance writer I am today. 

This is why I worked so hard in the first 3 years of my career to create a strong foundation for my freelance writing business and built my personal brand on Instagram and LinkedIn

I started working on this blog in 2023 because I didn’t want to work for anybody else anymore. I wanted to build something of my own, something that will stay and thrive even without much of my efforts and involvement in the long run. 

All this attitude didn’t come overnight. It has been built day by day over the past 3 years. My mistakes, my failures, and my learnings, all of them have pushed me toward the entrepreneurial mindset I cultivate today.

From time freedom to financial freedom, it has given me everything I desired.

Building my blogging business, I spend most of my time on my laptop searching for new and creative ways to grow my blog. And I cannot even begin to explain how important this step has been in my blog’s improvement.

I have come a long way in polishing my communication skills since day 1 of being a freelance writer. I still remember the day I had my first business Zoom call. It was in October 2020 and I was shivering throughout the conversation. Obviously, I didn’t close the call but it has been a steady road to improvement. 

Since then I have closed deals with the most amazing wellness brands globally. I have written for some high-authority people and built a worldwide clientele for my freelance writing services. 

The reciprocity rule can be a powerful persuasive tool in business. By providing value or favors to others, you can create a sense of obligation and increase the likelihood of achieving your desired outcome. I have done this myself and it works wonders for your personal brand too.
