Do you feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Are you tired of living the same old life day in and day out? If so, you’re not alone.

Many people feel this way, but only a few know how to make a change. I was one of these people until May 2020 when I decided to take charge of my life and pivot from an academic career to a creative career; i.e. a writer.

So, in this blog post, I’ll show you how to reset your life and become a whole new person in just 90 days.

Reset your Life: How Do You Become a Whole New Person in 90 Days?

Before we dive into the details to reset your life, let’s talk about what it means to become a whole new person. This isn’t about changing who you are at your core, it’s about leaving behind what’s creating obstacles in your way.

How do you Start?

The first step to becoming a whole new person is to identify the things that are holding you back. It’s about shedding the parts of you that are holding you back to become the best version of yourself

This could be anything from fixing your bad habits to overcoming your negative self talk. Once you’ve identified these things, you can start working on eliminating them from your life.

What Should You Keep in Mind?

Here are some extra points to keep in mind as you work towards resetting your life:

1. Be Patient

Know that change and good things take time. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away. These results will come only with time as you work towards them with better habits and more consistency

2. Stay Positive

While this may sound like the most cliche and the most obvious advice, it is given often because it’s true and it works. So, focus on the progress you’re making and analyze your setbacks to learn how far you have come. Build a positive mindset in yourself.

3. Stay motivated

Keep reminding yourself why you started and what you’re working towards. Things will not be as smooth as you wish. This is where you need to remind yourself why you began to work towards this change and reset in the first place.

4. Stay accountable

Find someone who will hold you accountable and keep you on track. For me, this accountability partner is my partner. He is the one who keeps me accountable. Find yours so that you can stay on track with your goals.

5. Be Holistic

Be wary of your mind, body, and overall well-being. Make sure you’re taking care of your physical and mental health.

6. Stay Open-Minded

Be open to new experiences and ideas. Stay flexible and adaptable to mold your approach and strategies to suit your present circumstances. When I began working on my writing career, I did this a lot to get my first client and kickstart my professional journey.

10 Things You Must Avoid to Reset Your Life

  1. Avoid Negative Influences: Stay around folks who make you feel good. Say bye to those who bring you down. Find buddies who cheer you on.
  2. Don’t Cling to the Past: Don’t dwell on your old mistakes. Learn from them, but don’t let them bug you. Focus on today’s actions and making tomorrow better.
  3. Don’t be Lazy: Take things step by step. Don’t put off stuff. Small wins add up. They compound to give you greater results. Don’t let laziness mess with your plans.
  4. Don’t Set Unrealistic Goals: Dream big but keep it real. Goals that make sense are easier to reach. Unrealistic dreams can mess with your head and get you in the loop of comparing yourself with others.
  5. Avoid Self-Doubt: Trust yourself. When your doubt arises, remind yourself of your strengths. Know that you’re awesome and you can do this.
  6. Don’t Neglect Self-Care: Build good habits. Take care of your mind and body. Sleep enough, move around, and eat healthy—your well-being matters.
  7. Avoid Isolation: You don’t have to do it alone. Share your journey with your friends or family. They’ll have your back when you need them.
  8. Don’t Fear Failure: Mistakes happen. They are a part of the process. They are the stepping stone towards improvement. Learn from them. Don’t freak out. Use slip-ups to get better.
  9. Avoid Impatience: Good things take time. Don’t rush it. Small victories are victories too. Trust the process and let time do its job while you do yours.
  10. Don’t Ignore Professional Help: If you need it, ask for help. Talk to pros if things get tough. It’s okay to seek support and learn from people who have walked the path you have chosen for yourself.

Remember, the journey to becoming a new person is unique for everyone. So, stick to your plan, stay positive, and be kind to yourself during these 90 days. You got this!
